LCP - On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), on July 18, a delegation from Lao Cai Province, led by Mr. Hoang Giang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, offered incense in tribute to heroic martyrs at Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery and the Memorial Temple for Heroic Martyrs at Hill 468 in Tuyen Quang Province.

At Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery, Mr. Hoang Giang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, together with the delegation, offered incense and laid a wreath bearing the words: “The Provincial Party Committee - People’s Council - People’s Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai Province respectfully pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the happiness of the people”.

Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery is the resting place of nearly 2,000 martyrs and a collective grave. Among them are 59 graves of martyrs, from Lao Cai province, who bravely fought and sacrificed their lives in the war to defend the northern border.

Their noble sacrifice, together with that of soldiers from over 32 provinces and cities across the country, shines as a symbol of revolutionary heroism for the cause of national independence and socialism. It serves as a solid spiritual foundation for today’s and future generations to continue writing the proud chapters of Vietnam’s history in the era of renovation.

In recent years, the Party Committee and people of all ethnic groups in Lao Cai province have upheld the tradition of solidarity and fully leveraged their potential and strengths, striving in labor, production, and education to promote the province’s socio-economic and cultural development, while firmly safeguarding national defense and security.

Before the sacred spirits of the heroic martyrs, Lao Cai Province pledged to continue fostering unity, diligently cultivating and promoting the revolutionary tradition, steadfastly upholding the ideals of the Party, and placing the interests of the Fatherland and the people above all else. The province will continue to care for the material and spiritual well-being of its people, especially families of martyrs, wounded soldiers, and those who have contributed to the revolution. With all its strength, intellect, and dedication, Lao Cai will strive to build a more prosperous, beautiful, and developed province, fulfilling the aspirations of the generations who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

At the cemetery, the provincial delegation offered incense at each martyr’s grave, expressing deep gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of defending the Fatherland.

Earlier, the delegation had also offered incense at the Memorial Temple for Heroic Martyrs of the Vi Xuyen Front at Hill 468 in Thanh Thuy Commune, which was one of the fiercest battlefields.

Expressing deep respect for the sacrifices of the martyrs, Mr. Hoang Giang wrote in the tradition book to honor and express gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who fought and laid down their lives for the cause of defending the Fatherland.

Mr. Hoang Giang presented VND30 million in support to the Cemetery Management Board

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai Province provided VND30 million in support to the Cemetery Management Board for the care and maintenance of the gravesites.
