Lao Cai Province: Two national intangible cultural heritages are recognized

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued Decision No. 2194/QD-BVHTTDL and Decision No. 2195/QD-BVHTTDL dated June 27, 2025 announcing two national intangible cultural heritages of Lao Cai province.

Accordingly, two intangible cultural heritages of Lao Cai province have just been listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List: New Rice Festival (Da So Da) of the Xa Pho people (in some communes of Van Ban district, Lao Cai province in the past - Son Thuy commune, Chieng Ken commune, Duong Quy commune, Nam Dang commune, Vo Lao commune).
The second is the knowledge of processing grilled fish, duck roasted in bamboo tube and leaf-fermented wine of the Tay people in Nghia Do commune (in Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province in the past).
The above two national intangible cultural heritages belong to the categories of "Social customs and beliefs, Traditional festivals" and "Folk knowledge".
Previously, in April 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also recognized: The forest worship ritual of the Pa Di people (Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province) and the weaving craft of the Tay people (Nghia Do commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province) as national intangible cultural heritage.
