Announcement on establishing of the new Lao Cai Province
LCP - On June 30, 2025, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces held a ceremony to announce Decisions on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units, ending the operation of district-level administrative units, establishing Party organizations; appointing Party Committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces, communes, and wards.
At the Program, Comrade Pham Dai Duong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Committee's Policy and Strategy Commission, authorized by the Central Committee, announced the National Assembly's Resolution on the establishment of the new Lao Cai province; the Central Committee's decisions on the establishment of the new Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee (on the basis of merging the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee and the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee) and appointed the leadership personnel of the Lao Cai province (new province).
Accordingly, the Politburo decided to appoint the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 67 comrades; and appointed the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 19 comrades.
The Politburo decided to appoint comrade Trinh Xuan Truong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province to hold the position of Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee (the new province), term 2020 - 2025.
Appoint 4 comrades to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee (new) for the 2020-2025 term, including: Mr. Hoang Giang - Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Huy Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Chairman of the new Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
Mrs. Giang Thi Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai Province.
Comrade Nguyen Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee.
